Barbara Sarah has been a professional clinical social worker for more than four decades. A 23-year cancer survivor, she founded, and for 13 years directed, the award-winning Oncology Support Program at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, New York. This pioneering program has received national and international recognition for its innovative services and programs for cancer patients.

In 2004 Barbara was awarded the NYS Governor's Award for Innovation in Breast Cancer Research and Education.

She is the recipient of the 2007 "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

She is a 2008 Graduate of the CancerGuides® Professional Training Program sponsored by The Center for Mind-Body Medicine.
